REUNION. GRAND ETANG

Are you looking for a romantic place in Reunion? Drive to Grand Etang, the only mountain volcanic lake there. Lies at the foot of an almost vertical rock wall that separates it from the valley of the Riviere des Marsouins and there is such a silence that you will hear the pin fall off.

...

REUNION. CIRQUE DE SALAZIE

Did you think that the land of Avatar landscape does not exist? Wrong! Visit the heart of Reunion, especially the Cirque de Salazie, and get amazed by the high forested mountains, tens of waterfalls and the Creole villages.

...

REUNION. CIRQUE DE MAFATE

We decided for Reunion this year mainly because of its beautiful nature. According to photos we saw before departure, we had great expectations. But what we actually experienced there, took our breath. That's such a beauty! What to start with? With the heart of the island! It consists of three lapsed calderas of the already inactive Piton des Neiges volcano. They're called Cirques. Cirque de Salazie, Cirque de Cilaos and Cirque de Mafate, where I take you today.

PŘEROV NAD LABEM

We use to visit the museum in Prerov nad Labem during the Christmas time. It is half an hour drive from Prague, very close for us. You can feel the Christmas spirit everywhere, rich program demonstating Bohemian Christmas customs is held on weekends and Ella is always looking forward to the nativity scenes.

...

JEŠTĚD

After a long time I visited Ještěd mountain and it was great! It was a beautiful autumn day and Ella was not bored on the trail, because she was looking for a treasure during the hike. So I did not have to listen to her usual "and when will we be there?". More days like that in Jizera mountains.

...

PRŮHONICE PARK

That's when you find out that there is another entrance to Průhonice Park than the main one and you do not have to worry about crowds at the castle than. I was the first time in this back part of the park, and it took my breath away. Especially during the beautiful Theresian summer when it plays all the colors and is absolutely perfect.

...

ŽLEBY DEER-PARK

We love Žleby deer-park a lot. A pleasant and quiet place at the chateau of Žleby is connected to the its park and is known for breeding rare white deers. A small public deer-park is open near the chateau. Besides the deers, there are other wild animals and predators. It´s small, but the more sympathetic.

...

PUMPKIN WORLD

I cannot believe October is already here. A month of pumpkins of all varieties, sizes, colors and shapes. We made a trip to the farm U Pipků with Ella, where they grow them, sell and prepared the Pumpkin World in the garden for kids.

...

LIPICA

The Stud Farm in Lipica was the only place Ella wished to visit in Slovenia. Although she has a great respect from horses, she loves them and wanted to see Lipicans "dancing". We planned a visit for a day when the perfomance of the classical riding school was held and fulfilled the wish.

...

LJUBLJANA

We did not plan to visit the capital of Slovenia. But the trip to Lipica was faster than we expected from the Logar Valley, so we decided to stop for the ice cream. Although Ljubljana is not one of Europe's largest metropolises, it still has great charisma. Finally, we regretted that we couldn´t stay at least for a day. The city center is amazing.

...

VELIKA PLANINA

There is one more wonderful place in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Great Plateau. One of the few shepherd plateaus of such size in Europe. A wooden houses reminding witch hats and grazing cows in the scenery of limestone mountains created a truly unforgettable experience.

...

WALLACHIAN MUSEUM IN ROŽNOV

During our stay in Beskydy it was raining one morning, so we decided to visit the Wallachian Museum in Nature in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. Originally, I did not plan to go there, but I didn´t come up with any other program in the rain. And finally it was a pleasant morning, because Ella likes to stroll around the historical interiors and I discovered a treasure at the end!

...

FUN PARK RAZULÁK

To build the Razulák amusement park right next to the Bečva Cycle Path was really strategic. When Ella saw a lot of attractions on her right, I had  to promise her a visit, otherwise we would not be able to continue our riding. The second day of our stay in Velké Karlovice, Razulák was on our day plan and I still regret that I did not take a book with me because I had two hours off!

...

PADDLEBOARDING ON ELBE

Do you enjoy paddleboarding like I do? I tried it two years ago for the first time and I fell in love. When there was an opportunity, I rent SUP and set out to explore the water surface from a different perspective than I used to. We've already bought one SUP this year and I think we'll have to buy another for Michal, he's getting better! Today, I have a tip for SUP trip close to Prague.

...

VOGEL

I was looking forward to Vogel. Almost every year we visited Vogel with my parents to enjoy skiing. I liked it much more here than in Bovec. I knew these peaks of the Julian Alps only covered with snow, so I was curious how this place looks like in summer.

...

BOHINJ

If Bled was great, Bohinj even more. As soon as we saw the surrounding mountains reflected on the surface of this largest freshwater lake in Slovenia, we were immediatelly in love. There are not so many tourists here as in Bled and because it is forbidden to build around, the lake is an ideal place for relaxing on grassy beaches, swimming, boating, kayaking, SUP. It is also possible to cycle or walk around. This whole area has become my favourite one

...

VINTGAR

In the eastern part of Triglav National Park, close to Lake Bled, lies one of the most beautiful natural scenery of Slovenia, the Vintgar Gorge. The combination of rocky formations, wild river Radovna and greenery creates an almost fairytale atmosphere.

...

BLED

We´ve wanted to make a trip around Slovenia for a long time, but were waiting for Ella to be older and willing to go on a hike. We started our roundtrip at Lake Bled. We were scared that there will be crowds of people there in July, but we risked it. And it was great. It was not overcrowded and the atmosphere was nice. I love such a moment of surprise when something awesome appears in front of your eyes and you can only take a deep breath. Bled, I love you.

...

ZLÍN ZOO

We were looking forward to ZOO Zlín. We heard praise from all sides and it was truly justified. This natural biopark by Lešná Chateau is so big that we did not even see it all. We came mainly because of the kangaroos and stingrays that Ella wanted to touch. And she liked is so much.

...

KROMĚŘÍŽ

Kroměříž with its historical and unique monuments is called Athens of Haná. We stayed a few minutes away from the city and did not miss a visit. The Flower Garden and the Chateau Garden at the Archbishop's Chateau are listed on UNESCO and belong to the most visited sights in the Czech Republic.

...

BOTANICUS

Do you know it? Have you visited it? It is already open after winter and I recommend visiting it. This Centre of Crafts is a great place for all children and their parents. Have a walk through the wide and well-kept Botanicus gardens too.

...

BOTANICAL GARDEN MALEŠICE

Especially the botanical gardens of Na Slupi and Troja are known in Prague. However, Prague has one more on the southwest slope of the Tabor hill in Prague 9, the Botanical Garden of the Secondary Technical School of Construction and Gardening. It consists of an arboretum, a moor, an alpine, a growing part and an operating garden. I´m driving everyday along walls of the Botanical Garden, so I don´t understand how I could have missed this oasis of calm for so many years.

...

EASTER IN PŘEROV N/ LABEM

Where better to spend a great Easter afternoon than at the openair museum in Prerov nad Labem? We like this place! When visiting this place on weekends, there is a special program inspired by the Easter customs held and you can find food stands at the entrance. Check photos of the Spring museum inside.

...

VAL DI FIEMME

We didn´t want to go straight home from Finale Ligure and decided to spend one day in the Italian Dolomites. This year's winter in the Czech Republic was simply amazing, but I wished to enjoy long and wide slopes with our daughter. My wish came thru in Val di Fiemme.

...

FINALE LIGURE

Z Nice jsme pokračovali do italského Finale Ligure. Do místa, kam přes zimu vyráží trénovat snad každý biker, kterého znám. Tohle přímořské město je ale krásné samo o sobě. Sice jsem měla čas poznat jen jeho část u moře, ale i to mi stačilo, abych mu propadla.

We continued from Nice to Finale Ligure in Italy. To the place, where almost every biker I know, love to train here during the winter. But this seaside town is beautiful itself. Although I had time to get to know only a part of the sea, it was enough to fall in love with Finale Ligure.

...

NICE

I always look forward to the Cote d'Azur! Even if it's only for a while. Ella was five months when I visited the south of France for the first time. Michal had a training camp there, so we joined him. We drove a car overnight. It was a long journey! It took us fourteen hours. After arriving at our apartment, we both were exhausted but Ella was awaken as she slept the whole journey. I decided not to travel like this again. Now, Michal drives, me and Ella fly and he picks us at the airport in Nice.

...

MIJAS

Costa del Sol is one of my favourite European locations. And the upcomming spring is an ideal time for traveling there. If you are at Costa del Sol, do not forget to visit the enchanting town Mijas. It takes half an hour by car from Malaga to get there and is really worth it. Mijas is a small town lost in the mountains 428 m above sea level and has about eight thousand inhabitants. Mijas has managed to retain much of its "white village" charm, with cobbled, narrow winding streets, dazzling whitewashed walls and breathtaking views. If you're lucky and it is clear day, you can see up to Morocco.

VIDEO - PUERTO RICO.

I know, it took forever! But vlog from our January trip around Puerto Rico is out now! Enjoy this beautiful and sunny island and have a great weekend you all!  Click here.

...

JIZERA MOUNTAINS

It was such a beautiful day yesterday! We made a trip to the Jizera Mountains to Severak Ski resort just for one day and it was the best decision, we could make. We left polluted air in Prague behind and enjoyed the sun on ski courses. I wish more days like this!

...

BUDAPEST

It has been already eight years since I was in Budapest for the first time. There was the Red Bull Air Race held there and the Parliament was the only thing I saw as we were sitting in the opposite. Michal participated in the Downmall Tour 2017 in a shopping mall in Budapest and I joined him.

...

ADIÓS, PUERTO RICO!

Everything comes to an end and our tour of Puerto Rico is over now. I was asked why I have chosen Puerto Rico? I was not able to answer. I haven´t found much information about the island in Czech, Lonely Planet was in English as well. Strange. But for some reason I just had to visit it. It was stronger than me. I could change the decision thousand times, but I always came back to the decision to buy tickets to San Juan.

...

PUERTO RICO. Check-in.

Going to Puerto Rico? Read my tips where to book your stay! Two places that we enjoyed and would recommend. One is a guesthouse La Jamaca in the South of the island and other is a boutique hotel At Wind Chimes in San Juan.

...

SAN JUAN

I fell in love with San Juan, a charming residential and commercial district! The streets are paved with blue cobblestones which were brought here on Spanish ships and time and moisture have lent them their characteristic color. The city includes more than 400 carefull restored 16th- and 17th-century Spanish colonial buildings which brightly shine.

...

PUERTO RICO. EAST.

East of Puerto Rico attracts mostly for El Yunque rainforest. It covers an area of 28,000 acres in the Sierra de Luquillo. Unlike other nature reserves on the island, there are good signposted trails. They are usually short and pavements very narrow that you have a problem to walk next to eachother. El Yunque rainforest can be reached from the capital of San Juan in 40 minutes, which means that there are crowds of people there. I honestly can not imagine how does it look like in the high-season here. I think, waterfalls can not even be seen over the people.

...

PUERTO RICO. SOUTH.

South Caribbean coast of Puerto Rico is the perfect place to unplug and relax. Hidden beaches with fine sand and crystal clear water are amazing. We stayed in a lazy, lovable seaside town of La Parguera, which is magnet for vacationing Puerto Ricans, who spend most of the day in bed and then move with a can of beer Medalla on water. During the day, the streets are empty as fishermen navigate the maze of mangrove canals to the open water to catch fishes.

...

PUERTO RICO. WEST

The West of Puerto Rico is known for its great spots for surfing. Unfortunately the weather was not good, so we just went through the center of surfing Rincon and continued toward Cabo Rojo.

...

PUERTO RICO. NORTH

We have decided to change the winter for the summer for a few days in January. I opened my computer and began to search where to go. Puerto Rico would be great! I read all available information about this island and the trip became clearer soon. Now we are here and have started our traveling around the island on the North.

...

KOKOŘÍN

Who would go for a ride when there is almost 20 cm of fresh snow and -5 degrees Celsius outthere? Of course, us! When there is finally a snow in the Central Bohemia, the sun is shining, Ella is in the nursery school and I have an e-bike, there is no other chance than to go. So we did! We went to Kokořínsko and spent a few hours in a fairy tale. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

...

KENYA

When sorting photos, I found my album Kenya. I can not believe that it has been already ten years since I spent two unforgettable weeks in this country full of contrasts. I will always remember three days in the Masai Mara, where we got thanks to the local guides to just a few centimeters from wild animals.

VIDEO Prague Christmas // Follow me around

When you visit Prague during the Christmas, you find yourself in a fairytale. You can enjoy Christmas decorations, lighting, markets with traditional sweets, roasted chestnuts, hot wine and carols playing everywhere. Prague is simply the most beautiful city in the world.

...

NATIVITY SCENES EXHIBITIONS

The exhibitions of the Nativity Scenes by the Church of Our Lady of the Snows and by the Bethlehem Chapel in Prague belong to our favourite ones and we visit them every year during the Christmas time.

VIDEO Follow me around // Prague

Our very first video had to be from our hometown Prague, of course. We spent almost six hours strolling around the New Town and Old Town but the time passsed so fast! Prague is simple the best City, check it on YouTube.

...

PRAGUE

Do you know that the exact date when Prague was founded, is unknown? Do you know how Charles IV managed to build the New Town so fast? Do you know who came up with the name Lucerna Palace?  Do you know that the Old Town was originally up to three meters lower than it is now and why? Any idea where walls of the Old Town were and that the Vltava river flowed behind them? Do you know where Mozart stayed when composing the opera Don Giovanni? Do you know in which house Charles IV was born? Guess why Wenceslas IV didn´t want to live at the Castle and where he moved? Why the statue of Jan Hus is not correspoding with the history? Can you find 365 names on the Astronomical Clock? What do you know about Prague?

...

HRABĚTICE

We decided to spend our Saturday at Hrabetice by Liberec, because there is a snow at the moment, sun was shining and Ella was fit. I spent my childhood in the ski resort Severak in Habetice, so this place means a lot for me. I always like to come back.

...

CZECH-SAXON SWITZERLAND

When I have a chance to leave Prague at least for few days, I do it. So me and Ella accepted the invitation and left for the Czech-Saxon Switzerland. It was our first time there.

...

JESENÍKY

Ok, I agree that you can´t ride your bike everywhere you want. For once, we changed our bike helmets to backpacks, bike signs to tourist signs and explored Jeseniky mountains with Ella on foot. We enjoyed it a lot!

...

BARCELONA

So how was Barcelona? Have you enjoyed it? My answer remains the same. Barcelona is simply great. I love it for its architecture, museums, galleries, statues, parks, markets, shops, restaurants, cafés, artists.

...

CIAO SARDINIA

We came for a week and it was over so fast! Sardinia has its own specific atmosphere and does not want to adapt to strong tourism, which is great. We drove 1.300 kilometers, have seen a lot, but not everything. Everyone finds what desires. If you want bays with white sand beaches and clear sea, go to North. If you want to climb mountains and caves, sail down the river on canoes and go on a trek, go to East. If you want a tourism area with bars on beaches, go to South. For surfing and kiting, go to West. The only thing you will not find here, is Italy as you know it. Sardinia is not Italy at all. Ciao e grazie!

...

SARDINIA. Su Nuraxi. Is Aruttas. Iglesias

We said goodbye to Cagliari and drove West to Iglesias, a town with romantic streets and squeres. However, the biggest attraction is the street decorated with colorful umbrellas. And it's amazing.

...

SARDINIA. Capo Carbonara

It was cloudy and rainy the fifth day, so we couldn´t enjoy beaches of the Costa Rei. When we came to the beach Spiaggia Del Riso, it started to rain, so we gave up.

...

SARDINIA. Su Barone. Cagliari.

I wondered why Sardinia is called the Caribbean of Europe. I understand now! Spiaggia Su Barone is a Caribbean beach in Europe.

...

SARDINIA. Nuoro. Orosei.

We left Olbia and looked forward to Nuoro. This region of wild mountains is an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts. You can enjoy beautiful white sand beaches on the coast, climb on cliffs high above the sea level, explore trails on bike, or climb to the peaks and gorges. This area impressed us the most. This is the real Sardinia.

...

SARDINIA. Arzachena. Palau.

Today we drove to the archaelogical area of Arzachena. It is interesting to its mysterious surroundings with lots of nuraghe and tombe dei giganti (Giants graves, ancient mass burial site).

...

SARDINIA. Costa Smeralda.

I have always wanted to visit Sardinia and my travel dream came thru this year. After reading two travel guides, it became clear that we won´t be able to visit and see everything, we are interested in, due to limited time there. Two weeks would be great, but we had only one.
